Andriy Shevchenko has given his piece of advice

Former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko has given his piece of advice to struggling Real Madrid star Gareth Bale. Shevchenko, himself, struggled a lot to deal with the pressure of a massive transfer fee when he moved to Chelsea from AC Milan.

He caused around £ 30 million and was one of the most expensive transfers in English football back then. Bale has cost considerably more at £ 85 million and he had been expected to deliver for this reason. After a spectacular first season at the Santiago Bernebeu when he won the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, Bale has been struggling to impart any form of superiority in recent months.

Paul Scholes reckons that Gareth Bale is the perfect player

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes reckons that Gareth Bale is the perfect player to bring the Premier league title back to Old Trafford.

United are set to finish a second consecutive season without a major trophy. This is despite the club spending more than £ 150 million on new players including Angel di Maria from Madrid. However, there has been intense speculation that Bale would be on the wish list of United going into the summer. This would help the club realise their original dream of signing Bale before Madrid did in 2013.

FA Cup Replay Promises More Quality

Of all the quarter-final FA Cup ties, by far the least glamorous was Reading's trip to Bradford City.

Scheduled for a lunchtime kick-off and due to be played on the quagmire at City's Valley Parade ground, it was perhaps little wonder that the tie attracted minimal attention and was not selected for BBC broadcast.

As it turned out, both sides lacked quality and struggled to break each other down. The pitch was a real leveller and neither side created much in the way of genuine chances. The 0-0 scoreline gives a fair reflection of the game. The two sides meet again on 16th March and fans can anticipate a much more open contest.

Cup Pedigree

Frank Lampard backs Bale

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has backed Welshman Gareth Bale to be a success at Real Madrid, but he says that it will be only possible if the former Tottenham star starts becoming more selfish in front of goal.

Bale moved to Madrid for a world record transfer fee of £ 85 million in 2013. He won the Champions League and the Copa del Rey in his first season at the club. Even though he did not score the same number of goals as superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, Bale contributed immensely in this crucial campaign for the club. This season, however, he has struggled for form.

The 25-year-old has scored 10 goals and contributed five assists in 20 matches this season, but it does not appear to have been sufficient for the Real Madrid supporters. Bale has been vocally criticised by his own supporters, although only a small section.

Gareth Bale got €91 million from Real Madrid

Gareth Bale went from being the main star of Tottenham Hotspur to joining Real Madrid for a record breaking transfer fee of €91 million and at first many people questioned this transfer as if the Welshman was worth all that cash but a few months later and Bale proved his worth as he helped Real Madrid on securing major titles including: The Kings Cup and the Champions League.

Bale continues playing a huge role for Real Madrid with consistent performances and now that the January transfer window is only a few weeks away from kicking off, Manchester United appears to have taken an interest in signing the Welshman and if rumors are to be believed then the Premier League club could be offloading as much as £90 million in order to bring him to Old Trafford.
